Coral records of climate change in the Atlantic

The figure above shows RSMAS students drilling coral cores off the island of Martinique in 2002. The figure below shows the kind of climate records that can be produced from coral cores. Salinity records from two different Carribean locations (Blue and pink curves) correspond well with North Atlantic Oscillation (shown in red) over the last century. Contact: Peter Swart
